TIME magazine has recognized ZeroAvia CEO and Founder Val Miftakhov as one of the world’s most influential leaders in climate action in business in its 2023 #TIME100Climate list. Under Val’s leadership, ZeroAvia remains committed to sustaining our impact through continuous advancement of zero-emission, hydrogen-electric aviation. The more that TIME magazine and other high profile media celebrate this innovation, the greater public recognition will be and the appetite to adopt cleaner flight technologies will only grow.
Val has been dedicated to developing innovative solutions to tackle climate change since launching his previous company eMotorWerks, which developed smart EV-grid integration hardware and software. After selling eMotorWerks to Italian energy company Enel, Val founded ZeroAvia with the goal of preserving and growing the societal, cultural and economic benefits of aviation by finding solutions to the industry’s growing climate impact.
In his interview with TIME, Val suggests that hydrogen aviation as a climate technology deserves more attention and funding. He states in his excerpt that “more attention is needed to stave off the over-reliance on piecemeal solutions or regressive policies that restrict flight only to the wealthy. More money is needed to scale up hydrogen production for aviation and to develop the airport infrastructure to facilitate the switch to truly clean aviation”.
