Across the United States, roughly thirty million Americans[1] are currently jetting their way across the nation’s skies or patiently waiting at the airport for their flight home to see family and loved ones for the Thanksgiving holiday. Hopefully not too many are finishing up an important Madison Avenue client meeting, while they nervously check their watch and fret over the flight time like acerbic Neal Page in the John Hughes Thanksgiving classic Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
This time is a stark reminder of the vital role aviation plays in connecting friends and families and getting us to where we need to be in the most important of times. Though as many take these well-deserved holiday journeys, we at ZeroAvia are thinking about more than just the positive side of Thanksgiving. We’re thinking about the emissions of all those flights: enough to cause digestion problems akin to the Thursday evening tryptophan attack! To be exact, this thanksgiving period 233,500 flights will operate within the United States. And our planet is certainly not thanking us for this. The antidote is at hand, however.
With ZeroAvia technology 32% of these could be zero-emission flights by 2030. So, when millions of Americans head home for this important time of year, they can do so guilt-free.
Given our US team will be taking a well-earned break for the holiday, we hope they can take the chance to reflect on how their work is directly helping us towards our goal of achieving sustainable flight – ensuring many millions can continue to jet home to their families for years to come, but with less of an impact on the planet. And given the latest predictions on rising global temperatures, we need far-reaching solutions sooner.
So, this Thanksgiving, we want to express our gratitude for the efforts of our team and the support and encouragement of our investors. We’re thankful too that the aviation industry is working towards these solutions. Together, we know we can achieve a cleaner, greener Thanksgiving in years to come.
